9 days Kilimanjaro climb

Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania

• You will be met at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Moshi town. You will meet your guide who will brief you on your upcoming trek and check your gear. Meals are not included on this day. You will spend the night at Panama Hotel Moshi.

Day 2: Lemosho Glades and Big Tree Camp

• You will be picked up from your hotel at around 08:00 am and transferred to the Lemosho Gate, located in the west of Kilimanjaro. Here you will start your ascent through the forests of Lemosho, to reach Big Tree Camp, where you will spend the night. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included on this day.

Day 3: Travel to the Shire camp

• Today you will walk a long section through a plateau covered in grassy marshes and heather. You will have the opportunity to see the Northern Icefields on the western side of the mountain. We will enjoy great panoramic views. Hike about 16.5 km and rest at the camp. Meals included.

Day 4: Camp Barranco

• Your trek begins with a panoramic climb, passing through the high desert climate zone. In the afternoon we'll make a steep descent to our camp for the night at the base of the Great Barranco Valley. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included on this day.

Day 5: Karanga Camp

• Our day begins with the descent of Barranco, a huge gorge. We then go out on a steep ascent, climbing the Great Barranco Wall, which separates us from the southeastern slopes of Kibo. We will spend the night at Camp Carango, located at an altitude of 3963 m. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included on this day.

Day 6: Barafu Camp

• After a good night's rest and breakfast we set off for Barafu Camp at 4640m. The ascent will be on deserted scree slopes without any vegetation around. Meals included.

Day 7: Uhuru Peak and Millennium Camp

• We start around midnight and walk steeply up to the summit glaciers. We will climb the scree for 4-5 hours and gain incredible altitude. The views are spectacular. Impressive ice cliffs inside the crater surround us and the views of Mawenzie Peak and beyond are breathtaking. Another hour's hike takes us to the Uhuru Peak. Then we descend the scree slope and trail back to Barafu Camp.
• We have breakfast at Barafu Camp and then descend to Millennium Camp for a long and well-deserved rest. Meals included.

Day 8: Hike to the Mweka Gate

• A gentle hike leads us down through the rainforest to the Mweka Gate, where we complete the park formalities and receive certificates to hang proudly on the wall! We are then met by our drivers and returned to our hotel in Moshi. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.

Day 9: Departure from Tanzania

• This day can be spent relaxing after the trek before flying home. Depending on your departure time, you can head to Moshi town and buy souvenirs before heading to the airport. Breakfast included.
